Protex Biometric Fingerprint Safe

I have to admit that if I owned a safe with a dial combination where I kept my gun for home protection in all honesty I’d be screwed!  I know that in that situation my fight or flight reaction would kick in.  For the most part it’s a good thing but the chances of me forgetting the combination, even though I use my safe regularly, is pretty likely since I would be scared and in panic mode.

And yes even though I would become like the Momma bear protecting my kids no matter what, which would be pretty darn terrifying for the intruder once I got my gun, I know that I would be shaking like a mad woman, which could make it even more difficult to turn the dial much less remember the combination.

The biometric fingerprint safes are increasingly gaining in popularity as smart parents look for better ways to keep a gun in the house while keeping their kids safe. I love the idea of only needing to be sensible enough to put my finger where it belongs and my gun is ready to go – so watch out here comes Momma bear!

The Value of Fingerprint Safes – Part 6

by BJ on February 2, 2012

GunVault biometric fingerprint safes

The value that fingerprint safes give you in providing you with quick and easy access could save your life.  If you own a gun for home protection, even if you already have a home or office safe, I still recommend getting a small fingerprint safe to keep by your bed, either bolted to your nightstand or even the wall.

Should you ever need to get quick access to your handgun in the event of a home invasion the last thing you want is to have to remember the combination and then go through motions of inputting it in and grabbing your gun.  That just takes extra precious time that you don’t have. Plus my regular safe beeps pretty loudly which would alert any intruder not only my location but the fact that I am opening a safe.  I don’t have to worry about that with my fingerprint safe.

Kids are a lot smarter than we [...]

Biometric Safes – Are They Worth It? – Part 5

January 1, 2012

Remember your old high school locker?  It usually took several days before you could remember the combination and easily open it.  And that’s simply because you used it many times throughout the day – every day.   It’s sad that most schools have taken out lockers these days making kids carry around all of the required [...]

Fingerprint safes really are such a great idea and are made very well.  Most, like the GunVault safes, are very heavy duty since they are made with steel making them tamperproof with their spring loaded door.  The safes are extremely secure to protect your contents and give you ability to mount your safe for extra [...]
